2012 Pantone Colour of the Year: Tangerine Tango
This year the Pantone Colour of the Year is Tangerine Tango. This vibrant, red-orange hue is a beautiful warm and rich colour which adds intensity to decor and the landscape alike.
Though a whole landscape with a palette of Tangerine Tango may be too intense, accents of this bold colour are sure to delight. Incorporating this hot colour in places which invite attention is a great idea, as the red-orange hue is dominating and catches the eye quickly. Plant tangerine coloured flowers in containers at your front door to welcome guests, around a pool or close to specimens in the garden that you want to feature. Another great use for this hot colour is perimeter planting in gardens which are far away from your outdoor living space. The strong colour acts as a beacon, bringing the garden closer.
There are many bright, bold annuals which provide this wonderful, tropical burst of colour. There are also many newer varieties of hot-coloured perennials that are wonderful in containers as well as the garden.
Whether the space you're dressing-up is indoors or out, remember to have fun and incorporate your personality. Adding bold pops of tangerine outside your home is just as easy as adding new throw cushions to accent the inside decor. Use the hot 2012 Pantone Colour of the Year to add bold accents to your outdoor space and create tropical bursts in your gorgeous Canadian landscape!
